An Announcement...

Gastrophoria is in the middle of a transformation!

Back in March, I first got an addicting taste of cooking on a large scale when joining up with my friend Yulree to cater my old classmate's 25th birthday bash. Looking back, it was crazy that we, with the help of 2 friends, were able to pull off and succeed in cooking for 200 people with no prior experience!  Since then, Yulree and I have been steadily cooking together in our spare time, working on different food concepts and we're proud to say that we are partnering up to take Gastrophoria to new heights.

Gastrophoria has been my personal journal to catalog and share unforgettable food experiences, moments of euphoria when a specific flavor combo just hits you and overwhelms—not unlike falling in love.

Now, Yulree and I are modifying the paradigm. We're joining forces not to simply share our epicurean experiences, but rather, we want to bring the experience to others.

Simply put, under the name Gastrophoria, we'll be combining our love of cooking and hosting to create exceptional dishes and one-of-a-kind events. We both believe that bringing together people and food often produces magical results and we're excited to be on the quest to do so.

This blog will then be the vehicle where we document our journey on this new mission. In fact, Yulree will be covering our latest adventure!

Until then, happy eating, together.

  3. Wow, so you're going to be starting a catering company? Is this a full-time gig?

Are you still going to write about your restaurant adventures, either on Gastrophoria or a new blog?

  4. Hey Kevin,

Yup, but more of producing food events—Yulree and I really enjoy the process of bringing people with food together. At this point, we're continuing to do this in our spare time as we both enjoy our day jobs—her being an event planner and me as a graphic designer. But I'm not ruling anything out as there's something to be said about being your own boss.

And yes, I'll keep writing about restaurant adventures—it's the reason I started the blog in the first place :) Just wish there were more hours to the day though. Since doing this, I've gotten an all new appreciation for what you and Cathy do since you're both so diligent in writing regularly.
